M.N. (Giri) Hegde, PhD, is Professor of Communication Sciences and Disorders at California State University-Fresno. He holds a master¿s degree in experimental psychology from the University of Mysore, India, a post master¿s diploma in Medical (Clinical) Psychology form Bangalore University, India, and a doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. This is a great resource to have on your shelf! It's tiny size easy navigation make it a quick and easy tool to use for finding assessment information. Can't remember the specific areas to focus on when assessing dysarthrias? Need help assessing the difference between severe phonological processing disorders vs. apraxia? or aphasia vs. dementia? This pocketguide has got it all. If you are looking for assessment forms then this isn't the right book for you. But if you are looking for detailed assessment information for identifying and differentiating between a multitude of communication disorders then you need this book.

His recording of the Spirit-filled birth and explosive growth of Messianic Judaism is divided in half: chapters 1-12 focus on Kefa (Peter) in Jewish regions, while chapters 13-28 concern themselves with Sha’ul (Paul) in largely Gentile regions. The known world of the First Century was not turned upside down because Yeshua-followers all believed the same thing. The inclusion of Gentiles in the plan of God and how both Jewish and Gentile Believers were to work out questions of their identity and relationship to one another in a pagan world — with opposing claims from both Jewish and Roman leadership — sparked much debate, conflict, and controversy about faith and practice. Even amidst imprisonments, rioting and personality conflicts, Dr. Luke details the influence of Ruach Hakodesh (the Holy Spirit) in all of this. In short, the faith of these early Yeshua-followers was demonstrated daily in tangible, practical ways. They fed the hungry, healed the sick, clothed the naked, invited strangers into their homes, visited prisoners, etc… Truly, when the world around them looked closely at those who said they believed the claims to deity and of messiahship from an obscure Jewish teacher from a backwater of the empire, their lives were different. The declaration of their faith wasn’t solely with words but with actions. The “Good News” was something which could be seen, felt and experienced … and the world had never seen anything like it. So radically different were those who followed this Yeshua, this Messiah (“Christ,”) that they were called the “Christ-like Ones,” or “Christians.” In the First Century, this word was understood in a biblical/Jewish context. Thus, for a Jew or Gentile to be called a Christian was connecting oneself very specifically to an active Jewish faith which recognized Yeshua as the promised/prophesied Messiah and Savior/Redeemer for Israel and the nations. Unfortunately, by the Third Century, the word Christian had completely lost its original Jewish understanding or context. Even today, the word Christian, though an endearing title to many, carries a hugely negative connotation for those of Hebrew descent and no longer effectively defines Jewish followers of Yeshua, who much prefer to be regarded as Messianic Jews. For over 40 years, Believers of Jewish descent in the Messiah have been congregating in hundreds of communities worldwide in response to the call of Ruach Hakodesh, believing it’s time to set the record straight concerning the Jewish Messiah. This book consists of a collection of my Shabbat (Sabbath) sermons based on the Book of Acts prepared and delivered to my faith community, Tree of Life, a Messianic Jewish congregation in San Diego, California several years ago. I do not consider this work by any means to be a complete exegetical commentary or a comprehensive academic analysis. Instead, this is a compilation of practical messages whose intended audience is Messianic Believers (Jewish or otherwise), and anyone curious about a Messianic Jewish perspective on Acts.

About the Author
Joel Liberman is the Messianic Rabbi of Tree of Life, a Messianic Jewish congregation in San Diego, CA. He has earned degrees from San Diego State University (B.S., Accounting), and Luther Rice University (M.Div.). Joel holds both a California CPA(inactive) and real estate broker's license, having worked in both fields for over twenty years. Rabbi Liberman is ordained through the synagogual arm of the Messianic Jewish Alliance of America (MJAA), the International Alliance of Messianic Congregations and Synagogues (IAMCS), and has served on the Executive Committees of the MJAA and IAMCS continually since 2001. He and his wife Darcie reside in San Diego with their two teenage children.

An Excellent Work

An excellent work on the 1st century spread of the Gospel of Yeshua Ha Mashiach (Jesus the Messiah). As a Messianic work it gives insight that we gentiles often miss regarding the Jewish perspective of the spread and meaning of the Word and how "The way" went from a Jewish sect to a major, global faith. An easy, conversational read, written in a relaxed sermons style, I both learned more about the foundation of my faith I enjoyed it and I enjoyed it thoroughly. Looking forward to reading of the works by Joel Liberman.

Amazing Journey!

What an amazing study...taking a journey through the Book of Acts from a Jewish perspective along with actual documented church historical accounts brings the Believer in the Messiah back to a time and place of the first century perspective within the Jewish communities and how these Messianic Jews were originally perceived.

These first century Messianic Jews were in fact considered just another sect of Judaism for many years prior to being out casted from Jerusalem (to the modern day traditional Gentile Christian they were considered another denomination within Judaism). We know this from reading the Book of Acts showing they celebrated Shavuot (Pentecost) following the resurrection of Messiah and they continued to attend the appointed times (biblical holy days) at the temple and attended their local synagogues at each Shabbat (biblical Sabbath).

These Jewish Christians, the first Christians, never ceased being Jews. In fact they were very Jewish in that they continued to observe the appointed times (biblical holy days) of the L-RD and even demonstrated (when required) their Jewishness by submitting to purification rituals (Acts 21). To say they stopped being Jews is a gross misunderstanding and a complete lack of knowledge, promoted as propaganda by Gentile Replacement Theologist Christians and Rabbinical Judaism Rabbis. Nowhere in scripture has ANYONE shown me where G-D said in any prophetic message that when Messiah comes a Jew ceases being a Jew and a Gentile will become a Jew…yet throughout prophetic scripture Messiah brings salvation to all the nations!

How can this be? I challenge you to take this journey through the Book of Acts with Rabbi Joel Liberman and see for yourself how the G-D of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob fully intended to bring salvation to the Jews first and to the entire world…leaving no one out…whosoever will (Psalms 22:27; 67:1-4; 72:17-19; Isaiah 60:3-9; Romans 1:16-17; 2 Peter 3:9).

Check this sentence from the preface:

"The Cauchy Integral Theorem is thereby an easy consequence of Green's Theorem and the Cauchy-Riemann equations. Goursat's remarkable deepening of the Integral Theorem is discussed, but is not proved."

Such an upfront motivation of physicality in Complex Variables or Analysis is more than a rare find, it can only be justly defined as heavensent. A gift from the gods! This miraculous text absolutely deserves its many 5 star reviews. (other readers should still figure out the previous text that has an even clearer presenation of the physical foundations than Flanigan [to think i gave it 3 stars!])

Perhaps the most Physically Intuitive text on Complex Variables Ever (here's the first full paragraph): "We examine the the geography of the xy-plane. Some of this will be familiar from basic calculus (for example, distance between points), some may be new to you (for example, the important notion of 'domain'). We must also consider curves in the plane."

Deluxe and "Definitive" Version is Censored

Alas, I've been eagerly awaiting this "definitive" version of Ghost in the Shell and it's a pretty big disappointment. The size is certainly not deluxe (it's no longer or wider than a normal trade paperback of an American comic; I've attached an image comparing it to a Doom Patrol TPB and a DC "Deluxe" collection), and somewhat amazingly, the contents are censored yet again despite an 18+ warning (I've attached an image showing how a rather famous scene is presented here). The quality of pages is fine, and it's cool to have the story presented in the Japanese right-to-left style with the original SFX, but this is a pretty major letdown given how the book was advertised.

As for extras: I don't really know what's included beyond what would have been in the normal edition. There's a glossary for the newly restored Japanese sound effects, but good luck reading it -- it's in incredibly small white font against a black background, as you can see.

Alas, swing and a miss for Kodansha. I got this for $14.99 and can live with it, but run the heck away from the MSRP of $29.99.

For those upset about "Censorship"

For all those complaining about the censored scenes.

An uncensored version is more than likely not going to be printed anytime soon or possibly ever. Kodansha has stated they could not publish it with those scenes, because the creator does not want it published with those scenes. He's gotten a lot of flak in both markets for it. So this really is the definitive edition, Since this is how the creator wants it to be seen.

That being said, Kodansha has done a good job on this. The Glossary and some extras would have been nice especially since they're already included in other publications of this series, but the margin notes are nice. It's not perfect, but it's close and definitely a great deal for the price. (Pre-order 14.99) Plus I'm a sucker for Hardcover Manga. . .

If the censored scenes still have you miffed there are alternatives mentioned among the comments in other reviews.

Typos are NOT acceptable

There are typos and this is NOT acceptable. It's an insult to the story. In addition there are some pretty disjointed conversations which, if not done on purpose, can only be issues with the translation its annoying because the majority of the translation is done quite well. It just goes to show the laziness in production.
Beyond that though its a pretty nice edition. If you complain about the size then you've never seen a regular one volume manga paperback. This edition is roughly the same size as the "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind" deluxe edition. While I don't agree with censorship on principle this was NOT Censored Shirow Masamune simply decided that the lesbian sex scenes caused more problems than he would have liked as well as not adding much to the story anyway (besides explicitly stating that Kusanagi swings both ways). As far as bonus content complaints, again they are jumping the gun, as others before me have said there are a few entirely new pages and a lot more full color pages as compared to the original version.

Good coverage of C# 2010

Firstly, the book does say there is a DVD of Microsoft Visual studio Express editions, but this is noted as an error on the book's website. Install the software from Microsoft itself. The book clearly states that example code is on Deitel's web site. It is easily downloaded and installed and I see no reason to doubt that there are 200 examples.

I worked in an earlier version of C# three years ago, and wished to refresh my skills, and pick up the new features: such subjects as LINQ and Generics. C# and the .NET framework are immense, and even 1200 pages will miss things. However, the book satisfied my requirements by providing a broad overview of the language and its capabilities. I was especially interested in the ASP.NET chapters and will return to them. Silverlight and WPF can wait for another day as they are irrelevant to me.

The authors write clearly. The examples are chosen to explain as much as possible with a minimum of excess. They are all working programs that can be run rather than code snippets.

In my opinion, the book is valuable to a programmer with skills in another language but no exposure to C#. A programming novice might be better off starting elsewhere, and coming to this book with some background.

Best C# explanation and examples, Visual C# included

I am an experienced C++ programmer. I have looked over C# Step By Step book, Pro C# book, C# beginner book, C# in a nutshell book. This book blows them away. The explanation is to the point without being verbose, examples realistic and useful. I first leaned toward the book with DVD, thinking that will make learning easier. This book has no DVD but when the explanation is clear, it saves time than following through tedious steps. IMHO, best C# book.

Great book as expected

This is an excellent book, just as I would expect from Deitel Associates. If you are new to C# and/or .NET programming, I think this is the book for you. I have a programming background outside of .NET programming and found this book showed me the various libraries and nuances of the Microsoft platform.

A Complete Guide To Learning and Practicing Chios Energy Healing

I love this book because everything you need to know about Chios Energy Healing is in this book! Before when I was teaching a class, either I or the the students had to print all of this same information from the Chios website so they could study and reference during class. Now it's all in one place, how wonderful is that?!? Now anyone can learn Chios Energy Healing on their own with this book. But for those who prefer a classroom setting you can go to the ChiosHealing.com website to find a teacher in your area. I give this book 5 Stars because it is complete, everything you need to start practicing Chios at the most basic level, all the way up to advanced techniques is covered very thouroughly. You learn how to read auras, you learn how to use color, and shapes during the healing sessions. If you ever wanted to become an energy healer this is a great place to start. If you are a healer now, this book can offer some new tools to add to your toolbox, and maybe some new insight into the healing realm.

Totally Blew me away!!Need the next one ASAP!!
I didn't think she could top Fear University, man was I wrong!

The Killing Season answered questions yet gave us so many new ones!! ~Warning~I would not read this book near a sleeping child or pet.. you will scream out loud a few times.
I really liked Luke in FU but now I'm in love! Hatter has grown on me and I have a feeling that we will be seeing a lot more of him and Sunny in the next book.
I am positive this should be made into a movie!

Meg Collett has a very vivid imagination and I thank her each day that she shares it with us.

I just read one of the best stories I've ever read in my life and I'm not even sure I can pull my head together long enough to write a review. I'm completely stunned. Shocked. In despair. This series just replaced one of my top 5. The same top 5 I've been looking to add to for over a year. Add to...not replace. What just happened and how am I going to survive until book 3 releases? I can't remember the last time I felt like this.

And where do I even begin? The Killing Season reeks of dark seduction. And have I ever loved a female protagonist this much before?! This book has my head spinning! Everything in it is intense and heated! The witty bantering is actually witty and holy h*ll I'm in love with a bad a** alpha female and an alpha male who is just as deadly and twisted. There may be an abundance of hard core heroines and their snarky attitudes in the lit world, but they can go home because Ollie takes the cake. And Luke is every womans darkest desire. He doesn't provoke cute butterflies. He consumes with destruction and fire.

And Sunny, Ollie's best friend and the other point of view presented throughout the story, is so sweet and just the right amount of geeky hilarity that falling in love with her is only natural. However, even she is tainted by the madness and fear. No one in this story is left unscathed and in tact. Every single character in this book maticulously evolves into someone stronger and foreboding.

I don't know how I'm going to make it until the next book. It kept my heart racing and adrenaline surging with twist and every, single shocking revelation. The Killing Season is a dark, intoxicating gem. It's the reason reading a book becomes an addiction. I've hopelessly been consumed by it and honestly do not know what to do with myself. Only one other author has ever had this effect on me. Ever.

I am afraid to read another book right now because I'm that person who tries to always maintain an open mind and much to an authors disdain I refuse to leave a bad review. I know all reviews help, but I can't hurt someone's feelings. Despite my lack of reviews last year I had read at least 150 books searching for a series to annihilate my senses and satiate the need to completely lose my heart and soul to another world. Fear University stunned me because as hard as I've searched to grow a top 10 favorites list, this series just replaced one of the top 5 I've held in such high regard for so long. Before now I thought that feat altogether impossible. I can't seen to move past that.

I can't believe how things turned out and I'm super eager to see what happens next

As usual Meg did it again! I can't believe how things turned out and I'm super eager to see what happens next. You thought you know what's going to happen next but theres's so many twists and turns on the plot and it will definitely keep you on the edge.

As usual Meg does not disappoint on this sequel. It gets better and better and I can't honestly wait to find out what happens next. You thought you knew what's going to happen next but there's a twist on every corner! I didn't expect Coldcrow's character to be as such but then again after what's been revealed I guess I'm not surprised and didn't feel bad for him at all. My heart aches for Ollie and I hope that in the end she would be the same feisty woman I grew to love. Luke needs to get his s*** together so he can do what he needs to do and I hope that this will have a HEA. Sigh... I want the 3rd book now!!! LOL.
